Tire Balancer is an essential part of your car. Just like the name suggests, wheel balancing machines in North America have a central role in the balancing of
Did you know that there are 3 different kinds of wheel balancing machines in North America that are used in the industry? These are available in most automotive shops that can be found across the country. In this blog, we shall have a look into how these three types of tire balancers work.
The first of these is the Static Balancer
Static Balancer
The static barrier is hardly used today. However, it is still used by most of the tire manufacturers. They use this to ensure that the imbalance of the tires remain within tolerable limits. In this, it is highly efficient. This functions by sensing by what angle the tires are unbalanced. The design of this is quite simple. This device has a cone that shifts with the effect of gravity, and therefore it shifts in the direction of the deflection. However, there is a chamber filled with glycerin right on top of the cone that contains an air bubble. This air bubble is responsible for deflecting in the direction opposite to the imbalance. You can easily find this kind of balancer in older shops where traditional systems are found.
Dynamic on the Car Spin Balancing
This might be the most accurate method, but it is also the most dangerous one to tire balancing too. With the tire and wheel installed on the car, a “hat” is installed and secured on the wheel. With the wheel and the motor on the tire, it causes a spin. The hat contains quality balance mechanisms that determine where the imbalance is. The hat contains a small snout that contains 6 friction rings. When the system is being services, the rings are held by the technician tightly while he or she moves additional weights inside the “hat”. When the outer and inner weights are balanced, any vibrations are minimized. This type of wheel balancing system is very effective because the wheel and the tire are attached to the car. The balancing system is accurate because any problem can be quickly and easily accounted for and corrected.
Dynamic High Speed Spin Balancing
Today, this the most common tire balancing system found today. The wheel and tire combination is attached to the balanced with the help of a set of special cups along with a special locking handle.
